ABOUT

Smail Ferroudj was born in Akbou, Algeria. He followed his dreams of becoming a soccer player launching his soccer career at the age of 14 playing for the club of his native city ORBAkbou, and was promoted to the senior team by his 16th birthday.For the 1992-1993 season Smail helped his club attain advancement to a superior division, this was the same season in which he scored 15 goals with 10 assists. (as a defensive midfielder). He later joined MOBejaia playing for two seasons assisting the team in an undefeated season. This momentum led him to join RCKouba for three seasons and in 1997 the club achieved champion status with Smail scoring an extraordinary goal.Smail joined MCAlger, the most popular club in Algeria with over 80,000 fans. After two amazing seasons, Smail moved to Paris, France in 2000 to further his education by pursuing a degree in Psychology at University Paris 5 (Sorbonne), where he joined their Soccer (Football) club, scoring 20 goals he aided the team in qualifying for the first time in history to the play-offs. He also won a trophy at Clairefontaine Tournament after competing with the 16 Best University teams. Smail scored six goals in five games of 14 minutes. There, Smail won the trophy of The Best Striker.Currently, Smail works as a Trainer and Coach. You may also see him on television analyzing a soccer game or on a sports talk show as a guest. He is simultaneously working on writing his first book, several media projects and the opening of a Soccer Academy (anticipated date Summer 2022) in the United States as well as other philanthropic ventures abroad.
